Road Trip with Mom

Friday Mom decided on a whim that we would go to Dubuque yesterday for the day.

Mom was really tired yesterday morning because we couldn't sleep well and she only got three hours of sleep. I got plenty of sleep and was awake for the whole drive to Dubuque, enjoying the view.

We spent the morning with grandma Taylor. Me and grandma cuddled a lot. We went to see grandma's new house. She is moving next month. We are going to help her. Then we all went to see mom's house from when she was a kid and went to Sears where mom used to work to see some of her old friends from work. While we were there, I really liked my toy on my carseat and had my first real SMILE! Mom was really excited, but she didn't get it on video. She hopes I do it again soon, so she can get a picture or video of it and put it on here. Maybe I'll do it this week. After my big smile, we went back to grandma Taylor's and uncle David and grandpa Taylor came. I was really tired by the time we left grandma Taylor's.

Then me and mom went to grandpa and grandma Jackson's. I got to see my aunt Morgan and we played for a while. I cuddled with grandpa and grandma, and great grandpa and grandma Hess came over. This was the first time I got to meet great grandpa.

Then mom and me were really tired, so we decided to come home. Since mom was tired, she called her aunt Sue to talk to her and stay awake. Mom got WAY too involved in her conversation and we ended up 30 miles NORTH of Cedar Rapids on I-380, when we were supposed to go SOUTH on I-380 towards Iowa City and home. She was really scared, so I just stayed quiet so she wouldn't get more stressed.

We finally got home an hour after we were supposed to. I ate some dinner and we just went to sleep. I slept EIGHT hours because I was tuckered out from the day.

Ahhhhh, what a day!
